Cisco Jabber upgrade rollout from Tuesday 25th January

As of Tuesday 25th January, IT Services will be rolling out an upgraded version of Cisco Jabber (14.0.2) on the Staff Managed Desktop Service. The new version will apply updates, bug fixes and bring the Windows version in line with the MacOS version.
As part of the upgrade, any chat history you have present will be cleared and will be unrecoverable. If you are using Jabber for chat, we recommend that you switch over to using *Microsoft Teams.
For the Staff Managed Desktop Service:
- The upgrade will be automatically applied and there is no requirement to be connected to the VPN if working off campus
For non-managed personal Windows and Mac devices:
- Links to download and install the new application can be found on the Cisco Jabber webpages on the IT Services website HERE. Please note that you will either need to be connected to the campus network or via the VPN if working remotely to access the downloads.

Improved security and stability when using the application.
The upgrade will be rolled out starting on Tuesday 25th January 2022.
