How we work
As an Advice Service we are members of AdviceUK which means we are required to meet certain standards in order to retain our membership.
We have to have a Code of Practice (which includes our confidentiality & complaints policy), professional indemnity insurance, and have a seperate steering group who meet twice a year.
Code of Practice
The Code of Practice gives us strong boundaries within which we work. We would encourage you to read the document so you can understand the Aims and Principles of our service, and our confidentiality policy.
We have had to consider all of our stakeholders when writing this document, the main ones being the students, AdviceUK, UKCISA, OISC, other university departments, and the Home Office. Some of these stakeholders have conflicting interests and so we have endeavoured to balance these conflicts to the best of our ability.
To help us with this fine balancing act, and to further our aims, we have formed a Steering Group, who meet twice a year and include representatives from many of our stakeholder groups. We are always looking for new members to add to this group, if you are interested please contact the Team Leader, Wendy Dant- email@example.com.
