Staff benefits

London campus benefits

Employees based on our London campus enjoy many of the same great benefits as those on our main Loughborough campus. Due to the difference in location though, we also offer a number of benefits that are specific to our colleagues in London.

Free shuttle bus

Our London campus is convenient and accessible, with easy and affordable transport connections to central London and across the UK. To make getting to campus even easier, a free shuttle bus service connects Here East to all major transport stations in Stratford, London. The service is available to anyone travelling to and from Here East, and runs approximately every five minutes from 7am to 10.30pm, Monday to Friday. The bus operates from Stratford International bus stop E and Stratford City bus stop X, and will take approximately 5 minutes to reach Here East.

Please note: The buses are clearly marked HEREEAST.

Spreading the cost of a season ticket

Employees in London are also able to apply for a loan to purchase an annual season ticket for travel in advance. If approved, the University would pay the cost of your annual season ticket, and then deduct the cost from your salary in 12 equal monthly payments.

Sports facilities

Being based on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, home of the 2012 London Olympic Games, means employees on our London campus benefit from access to some incredible facilities.

These include:

Copper Box Arena

Just a five minute walk from the University, the Copper Box Arena is a multi-purpose venue, with an 80-station gym and two exercise-class studios.

Lee Valley VeloPark

Whether you choose to cycle the track in the iconic velodrome, race on the new one-mile road circuit, tackle the 5 mile (8km) mountain bike trails or try out the remodelled Olympic BMX track, the VeloPark gives you every excuse to hop on your bike.

The Aquatics Centre

London Aquatics Centre is one of the best-known sports venues of the London 2012 Olympic Games, with three separate pools that are open to swimmers of all abilities.

Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre

The Centre offers 10 tennis courts and two hockey pitches with programmes available for those who want to learn or improve their skills.
