A new Submain is to be installed from Rutland Lodge (DB34) and terminated within a newly installed distribution board (DB1) in the Nursery storeroom.

The installation is required as part of an upgrade to replace the currently heavily overloaded single-phase supply and Distribution board.

DigiLab Central Refurbishment Project

Testing of the fire alarm system in the newly refurbished DigiLab Central is required to establish that all devices and M&E shutdowns operate correctly. As this is linked to Edward Herbert Building, all sounders and associated kitchen shutdowns in EHB will be activated for long periods during the period of 05:30 – 07:00. During this time, it would be preferable to have no staff within the building.

Once completed all systems will be reinstated back in service.

The university is carrying out siphonic drainage repairs to prevent water ingress into the top floor boxing gym.

Notification of the forthcoming roofing works to permanently rectify the rainwater drainage issue.

The works will be confined to the immediate area beneath the affected rainwater hoppers, allowing the remainder of the boxing gym to remain operational.

Access restrictions will only apply during the erection and dismantling of the scaffolding and within the immediate working area while the repairs are being undertaken.

Every effort will be made to minimise disruption, and the contractor will maintain a safe working environment throughout the project.

BTS are undertaking the replacement of the existing 6400 panels fire alarm panel with new 6500 Protect fire alarm panel.

Panels are located on West floor 0, 9th, 14th & 18th and East floor 6^th & 17^th.

The works also involve checking the cause and effect has transferred over ok (and reprogramme if necessary) and then perform checks on the labels, signalling, sounders, delays, and any other parts of the cause and effect. 

There will be lot of disruption through the activation of the alarms. These would be limited to about 30 seconds activation each apart from one which would last about 5 minutes. 

BTS will liaise with Security during the testing of the fire alarm system.
