During your doctorate you are expected to undertake a significant amount of personal and professional development outside of your specific research topic.

This may consist of:

  • Formal training (such as workshops and seminars)
  • External development (such as participating in conferences)
  • Informal development (through taking part in or organising events).

Over the course of your doctorate you will be expected to complete the equivalent of at least 30 working days of these activities.
