Chris Watkins

Hi I am another Chris.

I am a Loughborough Alumni, having studied here for a PGCE and then spent 19 years teaching Design Technology, predominately Textiles in a Leicester Catholic School.  I am an avid embroiderer and a member of an exhibiting group. Embroidery has kept me going during lockdown.

As well as volunteering here, I also volunteer for Fine Cell work and support their prison Stitchers in two prisons in the Midlands

On retiring from teaching, I became a Local Lay Pastor in the Methodist Church. I am a Local Preacher, taking services in the Loughborough area. IN addition to this I am a Prayer Pastor for the Street Pastors, having been a Street Pastor and Trustee for the Loughborough team.

I joined the Chaplaincy team several years ago, to support Deacon Jan when she was on Sabbatical and I’m still here! I help run the Bereavement group and support the creative and well-being side of Chaplaincy. I am a great believer in the importance of uniting faith organisations but also that as Chaplains we are here for everyone, 24/7 irrespective of faith and for those who have no faith, here for all.

I am widowed with two sons.

Look forward to meeting you.   Best Wishes   Chris.
