Ken has specialised responsibility for assessing the support requirements of D/deaf applicants and students, those with long term health conditions physical disabilities and visual impairments.

The role of the Disability Advisor is to offer information, advice and guidance to disabled students to support them to reach their academic potential. This involves, amongst other things, information on applying for funding through Disabled Support Allowance, recommending alternative examination arrangements to the Department, advising on suitable university accommodation and liaising with academic departments and other student services to offer a holistic approach for the student.

Support is also provided to prospective students in determining whether Loughborough would be the best place to study, and helping to arrange for the University to meet any specific requirements.

Ken also provides disability related training to staff and students whilst assisting the Disability Support Practice Lead to inclusionary practice throughout the University.
