Insight Day with Intelligent Energy
An exclusive opportunity for Engineering and Chemistry students to attend an insight day, with fuel cell engineering company, Intelligent Energy!
Intelligent Energy (IE) is a fuel cell engineering company focused on the development and commercialisation of its PEM fuel cell technologies for a range of markets including automotive, stationary power and UAVs. IE are headquartered in the UK, with additional offices and representation in the US, Japan, Korea, and China.
IE design and manufacture commercially viable fuel cell products to unlock the benefits of hydrogen, enabling their customers to have class-leading, reliable and affordable zero-emission products.
On the 30th of October, Intelligent Energy will be hosting an insight day at their office on Loughborough Campus (Holywell Park, Charnwood Wing, Ashby Rd, Loughborough LE11 3GB), between 2pm-4pm. Students are required to make their own way to Intelligent Energy's office.
Please see below for the format of the afternoon:
1:30pm-1:45pm - Arrival time
2:00pm - 2:15pm - Introduction to Intelligent Energy, delivered by David Woolhouse (CEO of Intelligent Energy)*
2:15pm-3:30pm - Tour around the facility to see and hear about our products on display in reception, labs and build area.
Tours delivered by Avner Madeira (Test & Validation Engineer), Sophie Harris (Senior Mechanical Design Engineer), Ronan Wilde (Mechanical Design Engineer), Eliska Krizova (Research Engineer), Dean Howard (Senior Mechanical Design Engineer & Lboro Grad), Daniel Head (Research Engineer & Lboro Grad).
(Students will be split into 3 groups for tours)
3:30pm-4:00pm - Demonstration of a fuel cell-powered UAV flight, delivered by Zac Elliott (Senior Product Support Engineer) and Colin Cort (Product Support Manager).
*David Woolhouse was appointed Intelligent Energy's Chief Executive Officer in October 2018. David has 15 years’ experience in leading businesses in different engineering and manufacturing sectors, including electrical distribution and rail. He has set up and led multi-site operations in the UK, Middle East and China and has experience in successfully growing complex engineering concerns with over 1000 employees. David holds an MA (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from Cambridge University and is a Chartered Electrical Engineer. He also has an MBA from Warwick University Business School.
