Spring Careers Fest is a 4-week period of events and activities running from the 6th of February to the 3rd of March. The Spring Fair will just be one part of ‘Spring Careers Fest’.

All our events will provide you with the opportunity to engage and interact with our fantastic and diverse students at Loughborough. We will be hosting a variety of events online and on-campus.

Click on the tabs below to see what you could be involved in.

On Campus Brand Awareness Events

One of our most popular offerings, promote your ‘brand’ out to the masses by coming on to campus and running a ‘Brand Awareness’ event. This is a great opportunity for you to engage with a high volume of students in person and create a buzz about your brand on campus. These activities will be held in high footfall areas, gazebo hire is available for outdoor locations. Examples of attrations include:

  • Free Coffee cart
  • Food/Sweets stall
  • Interactive Activites/Games/Competitions
  • Exhibition Items/Cars
  • Prize giveaways

Please contact employers.services@lboro.ac.uk for more information and to discuss any suggestions that you have.

Mock Assessment Centres (MACs)

Careers Network has been running a highly successful programme of Mock Assessment Centre workshops over the past few years both on campus and more recently online, delivered in collaboration with many respected employers. These sessions are always popular with students and employers alike.

Similarly to the Autumn Fest, we will offer both virtual and in person mock assessment centres.

Virtual MAC's

Working with Careers Network staff, Employers are invited to contribute a segment in an opening talk with tips and advice for assessment centres, deliver a realistic group exercise of their choice during a 1-hour breakout session, and then reconvene to take part in a short Q&A session.

Dates:

  • Wednesday 15 February 14:00 - 15:45
  • Thursday 23 February 18:00-19:45

In Person MAC's

Working with Careers Network staff, Employers are invited to contribute a segment in an opening talk with tips and advice for assessment centres, observe and advise students taking part in an interview exercise, and deliver a realistic group exercise of their choice during a 40 minute breakout room session.

Date:

  • Tuesday 28 February 18:00 - 20:15

For more information and to request to take part, please contact the events team at employer.services@lboro.ac.uk.

On Campus Employability Sessions

These sessions are designed to ‘upskill’ students. If there is a particular area in your recruitment process that students struggle with or a certain skill/strength that is important to succeed in your business, this is your opportunity to run a session.

Topics can include:

  • Making an impact at interview
  • Making effective applications
  • Improving Commercial Awareness
  • Interview techniques; standing out from the crowd

Due to low attendance at online Employability Sessions, we will be running these sessions in person only.

To book a session please contact the events team at employer.services@lboro.ac.uk  to discuss possible dates and times, this will limit clashes between employers and student lectures/timetables.

Employer Panel Events

These events are organised and delivered by Careers Network and are designed to support students with various elements of the application process. Each session has a different theme, and we invite employers to attend to offer an insight into what employers are looking for. We bring together a couple of speakers to speak for a few minutes and answer questions which compliments the session being delivered by Careers staff.

You will not be able to book onto these events, the events team will select from interested employers.

If you are interested in taking part, please contact the team at employers.services@lboro.ac.uk.

Dates and location (in person/online) TBC.

Targeted Emails

Targeted emails are a cost effective way of ensuring you are maximising your exposure to relevant student groups. Through this service, you can target students by year group, department or course.

Employers have found that this service works very well to increase applications for current roles, but it is also a great tool to boost attendance at an upcoming employer event or attraction on campus.

For a list of courses you can choose to target, information about prices or to arrange a targeted email, please contact us at employer.services@lboro.ac.uk. Please note we require up to 10 days’ notice to send a targeted email.
