Academic Probation

Full details on probation arrangements for academic staff are posted on the Human Resources website‌. There are a number of relevant documents available for you to download.  

The Centre for Academic Practice plays an important role in supporting newly appointed lecturers undertaking academic probation. The Academic Practice Taught Course  is a requirement. It replaced the Excellence in Academic Practice Taught Course.

The Centre for Academic Practice holds overall responsibility for the design, delivery and management of the PGCAP, which is accredited by the Higher Education Academy (HEA) within the UK Professional Standards Framework. Successful completion of the programme will entitle you to gain fellowship status of the Academy and to use the post-nominal letters FHEA.
