Malvina completed her Bachelor degree with Honors in Food Science and Human Nutrition, at University Campus Biomedico of Rome (IT). After the Bachelor, she obtained a fellowship to conduct a six months internship at the William Harvey Research Institute (QMUL, London), where she assisted in projects focusing on the development of targeted immunotherapy for Type 1 Diabetes and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Therefore, she graduated with an MSc in Nutrition and Health at Wageningen University (NL). Malvina’s PhD focuses on the interaction between gut microbiota and metabolic disease, under the supervision of Dr Carl Hulston and Dr Oonagh Markey.
