Vote for SSEHS alumna Marta in the Muddy Awards 2019!

If you're local to Loughborough University chances are you have paid a visit to Bom Bom Patisserie (and, if you haven't, why not?). The café is run by Loughborough University alumna and Sport and Exercise Science graduate Marta Oliveira Child and its cakes, coffees and savouries have proved very popular with University staff and students since the shop opened in 2016.

Now Bom Bom is a finalist in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2019 and Marta needs your vote!

Her business was born in 2012 when Marta founded Bom Bom with her husband as a catering company delivering cakes and sweetmeats to order for weddings, anniversaries and other celebrations, as well as corporate events, originally operating from her home kitchen! Eventually Marta realised her dream of running her own café when Bom Bom Patisserie opened its doors in May 2016, quickly making a name for itself with its range of fresh bakes and curated coffees.

This time last year Marta was appearing on Channel 4's Great British Bake Off: The Professionals following her success on Que Seja Doce - regarded as GBBO's Brazilian equivalent - but it would be a real thrill for Bom Bom to win this latest contest.

The Muddy Awards aim to champion the very best lifestyle businesses across 21 counties, including Leicestershire and Rutland. The awards aim to recognise independent businesses and the winners will be chosen by public vote.

As regular patrons of Bom Bom we are very proud of Marta's success and think her business is well worth supporting. If you agree, you can vote for Bom Bom Patisserie by following this link and entering your details.

Good luck, Marta!
