SSEHS alumna wins big in National Teaching Awards 2019

SSEHS alumna, Toni Knight, and her team have won the Further Education National Teaching Team of the Year award at the National Teaching Awards in London.

Toni, who is the Head of PE, Sport and Dance at Wyke Sixth Form College in Hull, attended the ceremony which marked its 21st year of awarding teaching excellence in education.

The team were chosen out of thousands of nominations, gaining recognition for their outstanding commitment to students, the community, the college and its passion for sport, health and fitness.

The ceremony was hosted by Good Morning Britain’s Sean Fletcher, and the award was presented by Christine Ohuruogo. It will be aired on BBC 2 next Saturday 26 October at 5:30.

Toni graduated with a degree in Sports and Exercise Science in 2011 before starting her PGCE and Master’s in Education.
