Loughborough academics looking for volunteers aged over 65 for study on the impact of exergames

Loughborough academics are looking for participants aged over 65 and preferably with a history of falls and balance problems to take part in a study on the impact of exergames on postural control and the risk of falls.

The study aims to determine whether playing interactive videogames on a balance board can help improve older adults balance and decrease their risk of falls.

Participants will be asked to attend three training sessions a week for eight weeks at the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine at Loughborough University. Each training session will last about 30 minutes and participants will be asked to play a series of interactive videogames.

There will also be three assessment sessions lasting approximately one hour – one at the start of the training, one at the end and one three months later.
