Enterprise

An integral part of the School, enterprise activities bring many advantages to all that are associated with the University.

The School of Science has a strong tradition of industry engagement and the partnerships we build with external organisations greatly strengthen the relevance of our teaching and research. As a School, we have several areas of focus for enterprise:

Student learning: Optional enterprise-related modules are offered on several of our degree programmes.

Student opportunities: All undergraduate courses offer the chance to take a placement year. Combined with numerous extra-curricular activities, students have plentiful ways to develop their skills and enhance their employability.

Working with industry: Organisations can partner with us for student and graduate recruitment, consultancy, collaborative research, licensing, and premises on the University’s Science and Enterprise Parks.

Research with impact: The partnerships we build through enterprise strengthen our research and ensure that it has a route for social, cultural or economic benefit.
