Synergies between Sciences: Loughborough University will host a Hub on Systems Thinking and Design (RSD12)

The School of Design and Creative Arts is excited to host one of the twelve Hubs, and the only one in the UK, from the Relating Systems Thinking and Design (RSD12) conference. This Hub will focus on exploring the synergies between systems science, design science, citizen science, and data science.

The RSD12 Loughborough Hub will take place on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 October 2023. It will feature a keynote speech, paper presentations, workshops and panel discussions by leading researchers, practitioners, and scholars from the UK and beyond.

Our focus area seeks systemic design projects with elements of one or several disciplines to build evaluative and foresight capabilities for addressing complex problems. The Loughborough Hub is organised by a team of researchers/practitioners from different schools at Loughborough University, showcasing the spotlight they want to put on transdisciplinary.

How can you take part?

Policymakers, researchers, practitioners and students are invited to participate in this exciting transdisciplinary two-day systemic design symposium.

The RSD12 call for contributions includes papers, presentations, workshops, and systems maps and exhibits.

What is a Hub?

RSD prioritise locality and is committed to reducing RSD’s footprint, so RSD12 is a multi-event symposia concept. Hub programmes are 1–3 days in length and are scheduled sequentially from the 6 to the 20 October 2023.

The main RSD organiser is Georgetown University (USA).
