Anna-Maria is a full-time PhD student in the School of Design and Creative Arts and member of the Transport Safety Research Centre (TSRC). Her research interests focus on road safety, driving behaviour, human factors and automated vehicle technologies.

In 2017, Anna-Maria graduated from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), where she gained her diploma (MEng) in Civil Engineering, with specialisation in Transportation Planning and Engineering. Her thesis was “Analysis of the impact of weather conditions on the behaviour and safety of young drivers on rural roads with the use of driving simulator”.

In April 2018, she started her PhD, fully funded by Loughborough University.

Thesis title: Exploring Acceptable Overtaking Behaviour for Automated Vehicles.

Anna-Maria's PhD research aims to explore acceptable overtaking in order to inform the design of user-centred autonomous manoeuvring behaviour.
