Recordings from National Postdoc Appreciation Week

During the week of 21-25 September the University held a small number of online events for Postdocs and other Research Staff to celebrate National Postdoc Appreciation Week in the USA; you can now access recordings from the sessions. 

Funding Opportunities for Research Staff 
Colleagues from the Research and Enterprise Office provided an overview on how to develop a strategy for applying for funding as a researcher, why it is important, the types of opportunities that will be available to you and how to find them.

Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy: what is it and how can I get it?
Fellowship of the HEA is a recognition of teaching ability and practice in the UK higher education sector, and an increasingly sought-after award for academic positions in the UK.

Fellowship Inaugural Lecture: Dr Bianca Howard, School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering
The Pathway to FlexTECC: Flexible Timing of Energy Consumption in Communities
Dr Howard is an EPSRC Innovation Fellow and lecturer in urban energy modelling; prior to joining Loughborough she received her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University followed by a postdoctoral research position at Imperial College London.  In this talk, Dr Howard discusses her pathway to developing her fellowship from a career perspective, the organisational structure of the fellowship, and the initial findings from the research.
