Next week (21-25 September) is National Postdoc Appreciation Week in the USA, and to celebrate we are holding a small number of online events for Postdocs and other Research Staff at Loughborough. Hopefully you will be able to join in!

Funding Opportunities for Research Staff
Colleagues from the Research and Enterprise Office will provide an overview on how to develop a strategy for applying for funding as a researcher, why it is important, the types of opportunities that will be available to you and how to find them. Join this session via MS Teams.

Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy: what is it and how can I get it?
Fellowship of the HEA is a recognition of teaching ability and practice in the UK higher education sector, and an increasingly sought-after award for academic positions in the UK. Join this webinar on MS Teams to find out more about what fellowship entails and the HEA recognition pathways available at Loughborough.

Fellowship Inaugural Lecture: Dr Bianca Howard, School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering
The Pathway to FlexTECC: Flexible Timing of Energy Consumption in Communities
Dr Howard is an EPSRC Innovation Fellow and lecturer in urban energy modelling; prior to joining Loughborough she received her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University followed by a postdoctoral research position at Imperial College London. In this talk, Dr Howard will discuss her pathway to developing her fellowship from a career perspective, the organisational structure of the fellowship, and the initial findings from the research.
