IMechE Seminar

On 23 November 2021 The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) are holding a live online seminar entitled 'Engineering with Human Factors: Improving Reliability, Productivity and Safety'

Dr Mey Goh - Senior Lecturer, Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering, Loughborough University - who heads up the Digital Automation Systems Design Group within the Intelligent Automation Centre, will be giving a presentation at the seminar on Virtual Reality Investigations of Human-Industrial Robot Interaction, where she will:

  • Describe challenges in industrial human-robot collaboration (HRC)
  • Show how we use VR experiments to investigate trust and fluency in HRC
  • Describe motion and physiological data to model the human responses

Seminar Overview:

Human factors play a key role in productivity, reliability and efficiency in engineering practice.

Organised by the IMechE Safety and Reliability Group members, this live online seminar will discuss the effects of Human Factors, key challenges around managing their effects and possible solutions to manage and reduce operational risks while enhancing workplace safety and asset reliability.

These will be underscored by examples and case studies from engineering organisations across multiple industries, including Healthcare, AutomotiveManufacturing and Nuclear, together with opportunities to get answers direct from the presenters and organisers.
