As part of the IAS Water Theme, Dr Rachel Murray (Loughborough University) will lead a virtual reading group on Thursday 18th June 2020.
In this interactive session, Sonia Levy (RADAR-commissioned artist) and Dr Heather Swanson (Aarhus University) will share some of the inspirations for their collaborative project on landscape modification and introduced species (see: https://radar.lboro.ac.uk/artists/sonia-levy/), and open a wide-ranging conversation at the crossroads of questions about industrial development, landscape change, the remaking of rivers and feminist theory.
In preparation for the event, attendees are invited to read the following two texts (available from the IAS on registration):
Anna Tsing (2016) ‘Earth stalked by man’, The Cambridge Journal of Anthropology, 34(1), pp.2-16.
