Professor Liz Stokoe workshop

Professor Liz Stokoe hosted a Talk in Crisis and Emergency Situations workshop over 3 days in December at International House. The aims of the workshop were to identify common themes, research questions and phenomena in crisis and emergency situations, discuss methods and approaches, establish common ground and discuss the possibility of future collaborations.

Professor Elizabeth Stokoe said, “We had the most productive three days at International House. Our ten-strong group, from UK, Sweden, Germany, Finland, and USA, led by myself and Prof Pentti Haddington of University of Oulu (a previous visitor to IAS, along with Dr Heidi Kevoe-Feldman), spent three days working across low frequency but high consequence social interactions across different hostage, suicide, medical and military emergency settings. The IAS provides the perfect home for proper thinking, discussion, and planning – and we plan to return!”
