Sound is a fundamental and rich source of information, yet often overlooked. It is physical, sensorial, and emotional, as well as social, cultural, and environmental. Sound contributes to the transformation of our experiences, environments, and cultures.
In Loughborough University, sound-related research is conducted by researchers in engineering, design, art, and social sciences.
The 2019/20 IAS ‘SOUND’ theme aims to build bridges between different disciplinary areas, to bring international experts to inspire new thinking, and to forge collaboration on innovative ideas and projects. High-profile summits, interactive workshops, and diverse seminars will be orgsnied to produce sound-inspired art, media and design products and engage a wide range of audiences from and beyond the two campuses of Loughborough University.
