Prof. Umit Ozguner, Professor Emeritus, The Ohio State University

In this presentation, after a brief overview of the Ohio State University and its Control and Intelligent Transportation lab, we shall concentrate on our involvement in Intelligent/Autonomous Vehicles development. This is an interdisciplinary area which covers many technological and theoretical advances made through the years in computing, sensing, signal processing and control. It also has many economic implications and is affected by public acceptance and legal issues.

We shall outline a number of developments, tests and demonstrations at our labs of single and multiple self driving vehicles, coordinating with each other and interacting with environment.

Umit Ozguner received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois and held positions at I.B.M. Research Labs, University of Toronto and Istanbul Technical University. He has been with the Ohio State University 1981 through 2015, where he is now a Professor Emeritus of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He participates in and leads research projects at OSU and leads projects at Oztech Inc. in Columbus, Ohio.
