About this event

Monopoly on violence? Police shooting!
I am interested in interactional trajectories that result in police officers using their firearms. This is interesting for many academic reasons, like: how police officers interpret their right to use violence, how police officers and citizens negotiate surrendering, how police work is an embodied and multimodal practice that requires moving around in relation to the other participants and the outlay of objects in the space. Most of all, though, I think we should investigate the systematics of police shooting trajectories because sometimes people die when they are shot .

Come to the data-session - I will bring a transcript and some video!
