About this event

‘The extract comes from a collection of pitches by small businesses to a local business angels' group that brings together investors with companies seeking funding.  The group is organised by a small staff who invite three presenters each month and a suitable group of investors who may be interested in the opportunities available.

Business Angels are private investors as compared with Venture Capitalists who invest on behalf of others so these investors are individuals looking to invest in new start ups or growing businesses.  They generally meet for lunch and then see three presenters in an afternoon, each having fifteen minutes to present followed by fifteen minutes Q&A.

The extract is from the very start of the procedure.  The presenter has been invited into the room and the Chairman will call to order and get the session underway.  I'm interested in how he does this and how presenters get underway - sometimes smoothly and sometimes not quite so smoothly.’
