About this event

"This is an excerpt taken from the “classic data”. In this telephone call, a recent widow is talking about her new-born granddaughter and every detail of her widowed life. I am interested in the other participant’s response to the widow’s talk, whether his is affiliating with the widow or trying to distance himself from the talk. Also, I am interested in how the widow manages to get back to some subject (people who have and have not written condolence letter to her) after it has already been talked about earlier in the conversation."
