Strong Loughborough presence in GB Para Athletics squad for World Championships

Ten Loughborough-based athletes have been selected for the World Para Athletics Championships 2019 which will be held in Dubai from Nov 7-15.

Libby Clegg returns to the 43-strong squad in T11 200m & universal 4x100m relay after a period away from the sport following the birth of her son.

She is joined by Sophie Hahn who will compete in the T38 100m, 200m & universal 4x100m relay, and Hannah Cockroft will look to impress in the T34 100m & 800m.

In the Men’s team, Jonnie Peacock has been selected for the T64 100m & universal 4x100m relay, whilst Zak Skinner will challenge in the T13 long jump & universal 4x100m relay. Loughborough University alumni Jonathan Broom-Edwards has also been picked in T64 high jump.

The squad is also made up of a number of athletes who regularly train on campus. Richard Whitehead (T61 200m), Hollie Arnold (F46 javelin), Olivia Breen (T38 long jump & 100m) and Stef Reid (T64 long jump) have all made the cut and will travel to the United Arab Emirates this autumn.
