In the Commons Chamber, Nicky Morgan said: “In Loughborough, we’re very proud of Loughborough University being the best university in the world for sports-related subjects.
“But one of the groups of athletes that have been much under-sung in recent weeks is our Team GB athletes who took part in the Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi.
“127 athletes returned with 169 medals – over 60 gold.”
Prime Minister Theresa May responded with: “I’m very happy to join her [Nicky Morgan] and I’m sure everybody across this House will join me in congratulating our GB team in the significant haul of medals they brought back from those Special Olympics.
“And can I also say how much we value Loughborough University and the work it does on sport-related matters.”
