Reader in User Centred Design

Victoria Haines

I am a Reader in User Centred Design within the Design School, having been an undergraduate student here in the 1980s.

I spent many happy days as a student in Cayley Hall, along with Design School colleague Tracy Ross – we studied Ergonomics together and have both continued to work at the University ever since, in various roles. My husband also was a student at Loughborough – he studied Geography. I originally came to Loughborough University, in part, for the sport and was Athletics Club captain in my final year. I’ve continued to keep active in various sports and now row regularly for Loughborough Boat Club. I am part of a masters women’s crew, primarily rowing in an eight and we compete against other crews of a similar age. Masters rowing is an active scene and our club is heading to Hungary this September to take part in the World Rowing Masters Regatta.

International Women’s Day is an opportunity to focus on the contribution of women in society.
