I’m an early career researcher in the School of Arts, English and Drama, specialising in modernist literature.

Predictably, as an English academic, I enjoy reading in my spare time, but I also try and get outdoors as much as I can and into the countryside. I love walking, travelling, spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy running (although I don’t get around to it as much as I should!) and playing badminton with a group of friends.

For me, International Women’s Day is a great opportunity to reflect on all of the wonderful women in my life who inspire me in all sorts of ways – from my mother and two sisters, to the female mentors who’ve encouraged and supported me on my journey into academia, without whom I don’t think I’d be where I am today. It is also a really important reminder that while progress has been made, there is still much to fight for in terms of gender equality.
