The past four years as part of the Loughborough family have led to some of my best memories.

From studying and completing my placement year at the University, I have been discovering my ‘home away from home’ and learning to embrace new adventures and new friendships. I have been a part of AU Badminton and also volunteering on the committee as Media Rep, Club and Match Secretary and Welfare Officer. The club has enabled me to develop my leadership skills through coaching courses, but also to feel a part of a wider team. I also enjoy being a part of the CVA, volunteering at a range of sport events, participating in MyLiifestyle netball and being a student ambassador and peer mentor.

To me, International Women’s Day is about recognising and appreciating the successes and achievements of women in all aspects of life. It’s an opportunity for everyone to celebrate the equality that has been achieved and to build upon this empowerment to inspire the next generation of women, allowing them to believe that they can achieve whatever they set their minds to. This is a day to praise women from all around the world, for their resilience, bravery, strength, for making their voices heard and for their ability to support one another to be the best they can be.
