I’m a PhD student in the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering, researching the water, sanitation and hygiene needs of perimenopausal women in Ghana.

I enjoy travelling and exploring the world, spending time with family and friends and going for walks in the countryside in summer. I’ve also recently begun baking and exploring my culinary skills and have been known to show my creative skills through knitting and sewing tapestry.

International Women’s Day for me is about raising awareness about the need for gender equality globally. It’s about recognising the many different issues faced by women around the world at a personal level and being able to come together to address them, both on the ground and higher up at international level. International Women’s Day should recognise that women are diverse but collectively face issues which are still not discussed widely.
