Aside from being a student at Loughborough University, I’m the Ethnic Minorities Officer, Chair of the Ethnic Minorities Network, BME Officer of the Women’s Network, Culture and Faith Section Head on Societies Exec and Program Representative for Graphic Communication and Illustration alongside various other volunteering roles on and off campus.

I spend all of my day outside of my course getting involved at the Students’ Union. Being an international student, LSU is like my home away from home, and I enjoy working towards the welfare of the students, helping them, campaigning for social causes and organising events for them with a team at LSU that has been like family for me.

International Women’s Day for me is a way to recognise the value that women bring to our community and their achievements all over the world regardless of their ethnicity, background, religion, etc. It is the one day that globally recognises the importance of gender equality and women’s empowerment. However, through my time at Loughborough, I’ve realised it’s not just a day for campaigning, but celebrating, supporting, motivating and loving the women around me that have become a part of my #LboroFamily.
