Unique continuation of solutions for certain evolution equations
IAS Residential Fellow Dr Igor Freire delivers a seminar on his research.
This lecture will discuss the problem of unique continuation of solutions for certain equations, including shallow water models, such as the Camassa-Holm equation. The approach discussed is based on the existence of conservation laws of the equations.
Dr Freire is currently a Reader at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), Brazil. Before joining the department of mathematics at UFSCar, he was a Reader at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC), a 15 years old university located in the ABC region of the Great São Paulo, where he was elected or appointed to several committees and boards, such as member of the Senatus Academicus (2011-2018) and Vice-Provost for Research (2015-2018). He also created and established an office for research integrity affairs at UFABC (2015-2018).
