Trans Abstraction - Art exhibition
- 16 January 2023 - 27 January 2023
- 12:00pm - 2:00pm, Monday to Friday
- Martin Hall exhibition space

An exhibition of abstract expressionist digital paintings; representations of the feelings, emotions and issues in coming to terms with being transgender as a 40-something in the early 2020s.
The covid lockdown period held challenges and difficulties for many people in many different ways. For Stevie, digital painting was chosen as a means of creative expression, whilst access to traditional painting materials and locations was limited. It also worked within the day-to-day working life that had become the norm for at least two years and has become an important part of their life.
Drinks evening
There will be a drinks evening open to all, where staff, students and public are welcome to come and view the artwork, talk to the artist and socialise with others. This will take place Friday 20 January, 6pm-8pm, in the Martin Hall Exhibition Space.
Buy the prints from the exhibition
All prints from the exhibition will be available to buy via an online auction. All proceeds from this will go towards a transgender supporting charity.
Special thanks
Thank you to the Creative and Print Services Print Unit and LU Arts for supporting this exhibition.
