Race and Gender, Manipulation and Inhumanity in Shakespeare's Othello

This talk will explore the racial aspects of Othello, Shakespeare's only play to feature a black leading character, and consider whether it is a racist relic from the past and/or something more complex from which we can still learn about the complexities of human reason and unreason.
