Public lecture: Omega-3s and cardiometabolic disease
As part of Diabetes week 13-17 June 2022 we welcome Frank Arsenyadis, Research Dietitian From Leicester Diabetes Centre – University of Leicester to present this public lecture.
The talk will discuss the use of Omega-3s for the management or prevention of cardiometabolic disease. Cardiometabolic disease is a term used to describe largely preventable lifestyle-related conditions like type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and non-alcoholic fatty liver.
Omega-3s are mainly found in oily fish, nuts and seeds, and have long been linked to good heart health. Roughly a third of us in the UK consume fish oil supplements, for various reasons, but do we really know what their effects are, what amount we should be taking and for how long?
