'Transitioning to Motherhood in Early Modern England'

This talk will describe the process, customs, sights and smells of the birthing chamber as it was experienced by women on the brink of motherhood in the seventeen and early eighteenth centuries.
‘Between victimization and political freedom: the struggle for the legalization of abortion in the Weimar Republic’
Andrea Pérez Fernández (University of Barcelona)
In this talk, Andrea will address the main arguments that were at stake in the struggle for the abolition of the controversial "paragraph 218" in Weimar Germany through the work of some of the artists who took up the cause.
