Materials conversation with Richard Paul and Duncan Wooldridge

About this event

During late February and early March the photographer Richard Paul will be in residence in Loughborough University's Department of Materials, investigating what microscopic and high-speed ballistic images might reveal or uncover about our knowledge and understanding of the world beyond the limits of our immediate perception.

Experimenting with 3D video and lenticular prints using scanning electron and optical microscopes, Paul seeks to reveal invisible moments of material transformation, in which toughened steel turns to liquid.

For this event, Richard will discuss his work with the photographer, curator and critic Duncan Woolridge. Woolridge explores the limits of photography via themes of reproduction and authorship. He contributes regularly to a range of art publications, hosting seminars at major institutions and curating exhibitions. He is BA Photography Course Leader at Camberwell School of Art.
