Global Challenge annual lecture
About this event
Head of ResilienceDirect at the Cabinet Office, Luana Avagliano will deliver the Global Challenge annual lecture.
Luana's reach has encompassed working in busy media centres, working in the Private Office, opening the first Department of Health Public Enquiry Office, working on the Towards Cleaner Hospitals MRSA task force, and working with Ministers.
In this lecture, she will talk about the ResilienceDirect initiative and its wide taken-up by public and private organisations in the UK for emergency planning, response and recovery. ResilienceDirect provides a real-time data-sharing platform as well as an enhanced situational awareness capability, providing live data feeds from different sources and can consume any forms of intelligence. During the lecture, she will draw upon examples of organisations using ResilienceDirect to support emergency decision making, and highlight its existing and upcoming capabilities, and talk about the research projects that she supported, including these at Loughborough University.
She has worked in Digital Delivery of transactional services for 14 years and chairs the UKTEES Emergency Services Innovation Series. In her current role she works closely with the UK Resilience Community. This has resulted in the launch of ResilienceDirect Service which went live early in 2014.
Lunch will be provided from 12.45pm. Please contact Laura Dale (email@example.com) if you have any dietary requirements.
