Disability History Month: Presentation, film showing and Q&A with award winning Richard Butchins
- 8 December 2022
- 5pm - 6.30pm
- James France CC029A

Richard uses his own experience as a disabled person to make work which addresses disability through mainstream television documentary in both arts and current affairs, and in his personal art practice. His work celebrates disability as an identity rather than seeing it as in ableist terms as an impairment to be overcome. He will be discussing the work for his PhD in film: practice by research at the University of Kent and will show extracts from his documentaries Dwarfs in Art: A New Perspective (BBC4, 2018) and The Disordered Eye (BBC4, 2020)
