Clothes Swap

About this event

Is your closet overflowing with clothes that you no longer wear?

Fancy swapping them for a stylish replacement that’s more you?

Welcome to Loughborough’s first clothes swap. Here you can create a whole new wardrobe by bringing in the clothes that you no longer want and taking home whatever items of clothing you fancy.

The aim
Our aim is to appreciate and love second-hand clothing. We understand the financial struggles of students and would like to offer an alternative way of shopping which is affordable, ethical and sustainable.

“Fashion shouldn’t cost the earth.”
The booming fashion industry represents creativity and individuality; however, it has also become the second biggest polluter in the world.

We want to make a difference
All proceeds from our event will be going to Fashion Revolution, a global charity that values workers in the fashion industry and cares for the environment. Their objective is to unite people and organisations to work together towards radically changing the way our clothes are sourced, produced and consumed.

How it works
The number of items of clothing you bring along to the event will be exchanged for tokens on the door. With these tokens, you can pick out any item of clothing on the rails for a straight trade.  If you bring 10 or more items, your entry will be free.

If you don’t have any clothes to swap, you can still buy a ticket and come along as there will be a rail of selected clothes at the event which will be available to buy at discounted rates.

Additionally, there will be several independent creatives, including Pickle Illustrations and Turtley Eco who will be selling their full range of products.
