Dr Gillian Bunce & Fiona Hamblin

Dr Gillian Bunce studied Fine Art before transferring her allegiance to textiles. She conducted her PhD in CAD, textiles and repeat at Nottingham Trent University (NTU). Since then she has conducted theoretical and practical research in digital printing and supervised PhD research programmes in this area. She is currently a senior lecturer on the Textiles programme at NTU. Transitions between real and virtual; manual and digital are key interests in her research and teaching practice.

Fiona Hamblin (MA RCA) is a senior lecturer in Textile Design at Nottingham Trent University. Her research interests are based around sensory engagement with materials through making and the creative process. Juxtaposition and transformation of solid and ‘fluid’ materials, transition between 2D/3D, manual and digital processes are key aspects of practice and inform the development of teaching and learning initiatives. With a background in textiles and jewellery and nine years teaching experience, Fiona has exhibited and taught internationally in a diverse range of contexts.
