Professor appointed to Loughborough University in London

James Skinner has been appointed as Professor of Sport Management and Director of the Institute for Sport Business, one of six new Institutes being established as part of Loughborough University in London.

Professor Skinner took up his new post on 21 July. He joins Loughborough from Griffith University in Australia, where he was Professor of Sport Management and head of department within the Griffin Business School.

Professor Skinner’s research interests are in leadership, culture and change in sport, doping in sport, sport and social capital, and research design and methods.

Loughborough University in London will open in 2015 on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London’s new innovation quarter. It will offer postgraduate and executive-level education, as well as research and enterprise opportunities.
