The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Loughborough is looking to recruit a Lecturer in Statistics to join its established statistics research group.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant department with a high-quality research across mathematics and statistics and join in the teaching of a dynamic body of committed students.

The Statistics research group is involved in methodological research in contemporary issues in mathematical and computational statistics, as well as in making diverse applications to the natural, biological and social sciences, including engineering, medical imaging, astrophysics, materials science, ecology and testing theory.

About the Department

The Department of Mathematical Sciences is part of the School of Science at Loughborough, which includes the Mathematics Education Centre, Computer Science, Physics and Chemistry.

The Department’s research crosses a wide range of key themes within Science and Technology. Research groups within the Department are: Dynamical Systems, Geometry and Mathematical Physics, Global Analysis and PDEs, Linear and Nonlinear Waves
Mathematics Modelling, Statistics and Stochastic Analysis.

We run a suite of successful undergraduate and postgraduate programmes teaching around 900 students and are consistently ranked highly in national league tables and the National Student Survey.
