Vacancies on University Ethics Committee from 1 August 2023
There are vacancies on the University Ethics Committee from 1 August 2023 for three members of the academic staff appointed by Senate on the recommendation of the Vice-Chancellor. The successful candidates will be appointed for a period of three years in the first instance, with the possibility of reappointment for further terms.
If you are interested in this role, you are asked to provide a statement of up to 200 words explaining why you wish to be considered and what experience/expertise you could bring.
As well as taking into account the statements provided by candidates, consideration will be given to the aim of achieving a balanced and diverse membership. In particular, expressions of interest are welcomed which reflect the diversity of race and nationality, religion or belief, gender identity, sex, sexual orientation, age and disability across the University community. Candidates from Engineering Schools, which are currently under-represented on the Committee are also welcomed.
The Committee is chaired by Professor Dan Parsons. More information about Ethics Committee and its work, including a link to the Ethical Policy Framework, is available at www.lboro.ac.uk/committees/ethics/. Members are expected to attend the three meetings of the Committee that are held each year.
All expressions of interest should be sent to Chris Dunbobbin (c.dunbobbin@lboro.ac.uk, secretary to the Committee) by Wednesday 31 May 2023.
