UK Research Office (Brussels), Virtual Visit to LU, Thurs 20 January 2022
This visit by UK Research Office (UKRO) aims to help researchers focus on building partnerships and applying for funding to the EC’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. The visit will be split into four sessions: Changes from Horizon 2020 and National Contact Points; Joining Consortia and UK-Africa Funding; MSCA Postdoc Fellowships; European Research Council Grants.
Participants can attend as many or few session as they like. All sessions will be accessed via the same Teams link.
The UK Research Office (UKRO) - a UKRI team based in Brussels – will be visiting Loughborough University on Thursday 20 January 2022. The purpose of the visit to help LU researchers focus on building partnerships and applying for funding to the EC’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme (2021-2027).
This visit will be virtual, and will be accessible via Teams. For ease of logistics, there will just be one Teams link for the presented sessions (running 0930-1515). In addition, UKRO advisors will be available for a small number of one-to-one meetings with researchers to discuss a specific proposal or question. A separate Teams link will be created for the one-to-one meetings and will be sent to participants nearer the time.

0930-1045: Changes from Horizon 2020 to Horizon Europe. National Contact Points.
1100-1230: How to join consortia.
1300-1400: MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships
1415-1515: European Research Council (ERC) Grants
1530-1630: One-to-one meetings (very limited availability remaining)
If interested in attending the presented sessions (09.30-15.15), please book via MyHr. Once in MyHR, you need to:
1. Click on Learning at the top right of the screen
2. Click Search Courses
3. Type in the first few words of the course title ‘UKRO Virtual Visit to LU’
4. Select course and book your place
Finalist PhD students may be interested in the session of MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships. If so, they can book via Doctoral College Development Portal.
One-to-one meetings with UKRO advisor(s), 1530-1630:
UKRO advisors are also available for a small number of one-to-one meetings with researchers to discuss a proposal or a specific question (please state topic in advance). These will be held from 1530-1630. Each meeting will be a maximum 10 minutes’ duration. **There is very limited availability remaining**.
