FM Notice of Works - Office Building Development at LUSEP - 4 Feb-Jul 2020

PROJECT
Office Building Development at Loughborough Science & Enterprise (LUSEP)

Work will begin at LUSEP on a 10,000 sqm, four-storey office building project on behalf of Leicestershire County Council and Loughborough University for leading software company The Access Group, on the site adjacent to Holywell Cottage.

Wates Construction is the main contractor responsible for the project, having been contracted by Leicestershire County Council through the Scape Major Works UK Framework. Wates is committed to carrying out all works in a clean, efficient and professional manner, with the highest standards of health and safety.

WHY DOES THE WORK NEED TO BE DONE?
The development is a collaborative project with Leicestershire County Council and Loughborough University which will create employment for the local community. This works is part of the larger Loughborough Science and Enterprise Park project.

TIMESCALE?
Enabling Works will commence on 4th February 2019.

The main construction period, including groundworks, will commence in late March with an intended project completion in late July 2020.

HOW WILL THE WORKS AFFECT ME?
All vehicles relating to the construction project will be managed within the construction site. There will be intermittent closures to Oakwood Drive beyond ATIC during the construction period.

We would remind all campus users including organisations based at LUSEP (campus partners), that parking is only permitted in the designated car parks.

This is particularly important due to the increased levels of traffic associated with the works, including large commercial articulated vehicles using Oakwood Drive to access the site.

UPDATES:
Further notices will be issued as work progresses.
