Estates and Facilities Management Notice of Works

Emergency Lighting is lighting for situations when the main power supply is cut, and any normal illumination fails. The loss of mains electricity could be the result of a fire or power cut and the normal lighting supplies fail. This may lead to sudden darkness and a possible danger to occupants, either through physical danger or panic.

This work will be carried out campus-wide in July, August and September 2020.

The Compliance Team will be on site carrying out the Annual Three-Hour Emergency Lighting Testing. (This means the Emergency Lights will be on for Three Hours), which may have some impact on individuals or working areas. This work will be carried out between the hours of 7.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 2.30 p.m. on Friday. If this will cause a problem in your Department/School, Student Accommodation, SportPark or Tenant Areas, please inform the contact below so a time can be arranged to suit both parties.
